This is one of those special hidden away beaches on the island; it’s off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. Situated about 1 mile from Ventnor, it is one of the few Coves in England that has no road access. It seems that time may have stood still, for this is your traditional bucket and spade type beach; children will love the rock pools, where they can hunt for crabs and little fish. You can hire traditional brightly coloured deck chairs, complete with sun awning. Its sheltered location makes it feel more like a little piece of some far away tropical location.

The island is fortunate in having so many popular beaches, but this has a special charm away from the hustle and bustle of the modern day, the gently sloping beach offers safe swimming. Each of the houses fronting the bay own a section of the beach, and local fishermen land fresh seafood which is served in the Boathouse restaurant.
