It’s that time of year again...
Did you know that Lendy Cowes Week is one of the UK’s oldest and successful sporting events, held every year in August since 1826, except during WWI & WWII!
This year the historic regatta kicks off on Saturday 29th July running until Saturday 5th August, offering a week of world class sailing action out on the Solent and of course, a full and colourful entertainment programme on the shore for locals and visitors to enjoy.
With a live music and entertainment programme, an interactive race village and delicious food and drink on offer, there is so much to see and do for all of the family. Not forgetting live action from the dare devil Red Arrows display team at 1930 and the famous Cowes Firework display starting at 2130 on Friday 4th August – the highlight of the week’s entertainment.
This year’s event will span between Shepard’s Wharf, Northwood House, Cowes Yacht Haven and The Parade offering a variety of stages, themed drinks bars, pop up restaurants and a nightclub at Northwood House.
In support of this exciting local event, Southern Vectis will be laying on extra buses between Newport and Cowes during the week, with an enhanced service on Route 1 over the first weekend (Friday 28th and Saturday 29th July) and 12 extra buses added to service on Firework night on Friday 4th August, making 15 on Route 1 in total – that’s an additional 300 journeys!
Why not make the most of this vibrant week of world class sport, entertainment and dancing. Leave the car at home and travel into Cowes with ease by bus.
