ROUTE 4 & 9 - Elenors Grove, Binstead - overnight road closure & diversion - 7, 10-14, 17&18 July

Wednesday, July 05 2017

Please be aware that this evening (Friday 7th July), Elenors Grove in Binstead will be closed from 1930pm and will reopen at 0600am due to major works between Arnold Road and Fishbourne Lane.

This road will be affected on and off between 7th and 18th July.

This main stretch of road will be closed between the hours of 1930pm and 0600am over the following dates while major works take place:

Friday 7th July -- closed 1930pm to 0600am
Monday 10th July -- closed 1930pm to 0600am
Tuesday 11th July -- closed 1930pm to 0600am
Wednesday 12th July -- closed 1930pm to 0600am
Thursday 13th July -- closed 1930pm to 0600am
Friday 14th July -- closed 1930pm to 0600am

The road will remain open during the weekends over this period:

Saturday 8th July -- road open
Sunday 9th July -- road open
Saturday 15th July -- road open
Sunday 16th July -- road open

The road closure will affect Southern Vectis ROUTE 4 between Ryde and East Cowes, and the ROUTE 9 service between Newport and Ryde between 1930pm and 0600am during the aforementioned dates.

Diversions will be in place and we anticipate heavy traffic increasing journey time.

ROUTE 4 between Ryde and East Cowes will be diverted during these dates. Please allow up to 40 to 50 minutes for your journey as a result of the road closure, subsequent diversion and other traffic.

ROUTE 9 between Ryde and Newport will also be affected and similarly diverted. Again, we estimate a longer journey time for this route -- please allow 40 to 50 minutes for your commute.

From Ryde -- normal route to Ringwood Road mini roundabout. Left into Ringwood Road, continues as Binstead Lodge Road to the junction with Hillrise Avenue, turn right (still Binstead Lodge Road) to the end, left into Verwood Drive, left into Newnham Road, continues as Havenstreet Main Road, continues as Combley Road, right into Briddlesford Road. At Wootton Common Roundabout left for Route 9 via Staplers, right for route 4 and 9 (via Fairlee) to The Cedars to rejoin normal route.

From Newport and East Cowes -- same diversion in both directions.

We will keep you informed on this major disruption to evening service, all drivers and staff will strive to keep to the timetable and get you to your stop in good time.

We apologies for any inconvenience as a result of these service changes and thank you in advance for your patience as we try our best to get you where you need to go.
